Delete main account from GOLD configuration environment

Hi, 

I am trying to delete some main accounts in a GOLD configuration environment and receiving the error: A financial dimension value is based on the XXXXX record and has been used on a transaction. You cannot delete the 32110 record.

This main account is not linked to any posting profiles and I have tried removing the whole range from the account structures with no luck. Other community posts have mentioned deleting the value from the various DimensionAttributeValue tables but I am finding when I browse to these tables the delete option has been removed.

Installed product version :
Finance and Operations (10.0.6)
Installed platform version : Update30 (7.0.5407.35455)

    Hi Mark,

    Do you know if somebody has opened a journal and entered the account-findim combination in a journal line?

    That is usually sufficient to cause this kind of problem.

    If you cannot delete the record yourself then please ask a developer for some help.

    A better option is of course if you could simply suspend the account, which might not be a 'bad' thing because you might need the account later on anyway.

    Note: If this happens in your live environment deleting a value from the dimensionattributevalue table will most probably result in issues with the data mart of the financial reporter and as a result, you regularly have to reset the datamart.

    Hi MarkChristensen,

    As Ludwig mentioned; suspending these accounts would be a good option to go with.

    There must be transactions with financial dimensions already recorded in Golden environment due to which now system is not allowing to delete those main accounts.

    You can check with developer and run the "Sysdatabasetransdelete" class to delete all transactions from system and then try if this is helping you to delete those main accounts or not. But do not execute this in PROD environment.

    Thanks for the Sourav! I will ask our Devs to run that class for me, it's in GOLD so should only be configuration

    Thanks for the help Ludwig :) I don't think any one has entered or created any journals but I will be sure to check.

    I ended up suspending them for now and changing the name to TBD to help identify they are to be used later.

    Thanks for the tip in the datamart, if this is the case I think suspending will be a safer option.
