Accounting Informations in two Calendars to display in a Management Reporter Statement

Posted on by

Hello,

I had to display a the income statement from 2016 to 2021 via Management Reporter. The first fiscal Year created in D365 is 2019 ans it is closed.

I created a new calendar and new fiscal years from 2016 to 2018 under this new calendar, and inserted balances from 2016 to 2018 via a custom layer.

But I was unable to display the information from previous years (from 2016 to 2018) in Management Reporter. Is there a filter of Calendar in Management Repoter?

If not, is there other method to insert accounting informations of prior fiscal years in D365 and display it in Management Reporter

Thanks In advance

    Hello Abir,

Can you provide details of what you did when you created a custom layer?

An example of what was done would help.

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

    Thank you for your reply,

I had a fiscal year calendar "PG" configured in Ledger setup but the first year in this calender is 2019

I had to display informations of prior years 2016 to 2018 in a reporter configured via Management reporter. Since I could not create transactions  of prior years 2016 to 2018 in this calendar, ... I created a new calendar, configured it in ledger setup and created transactions of prior years. I choose to do this in a Postin Layer "custom layer" to avoid to display them in ledger statement .

But the problem is how to display transactions of prior years, created in other calendar in management reporter.

    Currently, I have two calendars:

-the first, configured in ledger setup and contains transactions from 2019 to 2021

-The second: created to enter transactions from 2016 to 2018

Transactions from 2016 to 2018 are posted and they exist when displaying trial balance of 2016 to 2018

    Hi Abir,

    Some comments below:

If your calendar does not include the years 2016 to 2018 then you could actually have deleted the calendar and changed / modified it. Creating a new calendar is not really necessary.

Anyway, as this already happened, you can bring the data together by selecting multiple posting layers.

That is, you have to select your customer layer 2 plus the layer that you use for your 'normal' postings.

That's easy in the trial balance form.

In management report you have to put a specific filter/attributes for the customer layer 2 to get the data included into your financial report.

    That's not difficult.

Just check out the row and or column definitions where you can make a selection of the different posting layers used.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

Thanks. Could you please give me more details how can I modify calendar with closed Years (2019 to 2020)??

Since I must set up only one calendar in ledger setup, I kept the first calendar in which I had closed years (2019to 2020)

The problem is how to display informations in MR from 02 calendars not from 02 posting layers.

Even if I put the filter/attributes for the Actual+customer layer 2, It displayed only the data included into the calendar in the ledger set up (informations of 2019 to 2021).

I can't get informations from the two calendars

    Kind Regards,

    Abir

    Hello Abir,

Andre was once posting how this can be realized.

    Please see:

    dynamicspedia.com/.../

    About the calendar & MR:

Dynamics and the MR actually don't care about calendars. They use posting/transaction days and do not refer to a specific calendar.

In case you don't see all the data in the management reporter then it might be an issue of incorrect / corrupted data, in which case a rebuild of the datamart might help.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
