New Data Fields for Business Process Flows Not Showing

(0) ShareShare

I have created new fields to be used in a business process flow however they are not appearing in the 'Data Field' drop down menu when creating a BPF. Is this because I've created the fields under 'Account' entity and I need the BPF to show on cases?

If this is the case how can I get the data fields to show at account level while the BPF is on cases?

Thanks

    Hi Sarah,

I think your question is 'if we have a field in an entity , how can i use it in other entities'.

    My answer is

    1. you can create a related Field which could be the same name in Case Enity

    2. Create a workflow/Power Automate/Plugin to update the value of Field from Account to Case while a change has been made.

Here is one example for your reference:https://www.encorebusiness.com/blog/update-child-records-in-a-onemany-relationship-in-dynamics-365-customer-engagement/

I think I've answered my own question for "Is this because I've created the fields under 'Account' entity and I need the BPF to show on cases?" It looks as though that's a yes because I've created a field under case which now shows in the drop down on the BPF. However I need the answer here to populate the field at account level not case?
