Hello Team,
May i know what is the quantity field found in posting GL ledger journal?
Journal voucher form > General > Quantity.
When this is set to zero, i cannot post the JBN and receives an error " quantity cannot be 0"

This field is for information purposes only.
If you use the management reporter then you can extract the content that is entered in the field but there is no specific GL report/function depended on that.

General ledger quantity is additional field in Journal Voucher > general tab.

where we can setup this field to allow posting with zero.
There is no specific setup or parameter in GL that allows you specifying that a default qty is entered in this field. If you need this then you have to make a system modification.
This quantity field should be optional. There is out of the box no option to make it mandatory. Can you check if the current behavior is caused by a customization or add-on?
