Hi

We are using Dynamics AX 2009 and I have to implement an Webservice that can take data sent in Json Format.

We have a system sending us data (Workers with some Info). The data will be sent as Json.

I have to create a webservice beeing able to consume the data inside AX2009.

How can I manage this?

Best regards

Chris

If you are talking about that the external application should be able to send data to AX in JSON format, that is not possible without doing some hacking in the serialization of data contract envelopes.

AX uses WCF framework, thus expects messages in a pre-defined XML message envelope. You could check it if you open the Inbound ports in AX and browse to the WSDL URL. The only way to do it is by having a middle-tier like BizTalk, which could convert the message coming in JSon, then convert it to the proper XML format on-the-fly.

If you want to pull in data yourself that can be consumed in JSon format, here is a blog post about that:

hmm ok. I think it should be somehow possible to implement a REST Service that can be consumed from the external app and than write a converter to deserialize the Data inside of AX

Of course it's possible to write a middle-tier service (consuming JSON, calling AX SOAP messages) by yourself, instead of using something like BizTalk.

great in this case I just have to learn how to do so (implementing the middle-tier service and the WebService)
