Order Invoice Batch Job every now and then completes without processing any order

Hello,

I am working on AX 2012 Feature Pack, Kernel & App 6.0.1108.6482.

I have 2 batch jobs set up (1- post delivery note, 2 - invoice what has been delivered), a couple of hours apart so that they never clash ( I haven't used conditions to "link" the 2 batch jobs).

Apparently in a random way the "2- Invoice" job completes successfully but without processing any of the delivered orders; Basically it is ending without doing anything ! No warning, no errors bot on AX, Event Viewer, SQL, anything...

I am not able to replicate this but only seeing this on a Production environment. In Test everything get posted as expected.

Has anybody seen this before or could advise the best way to troubleshoot this ?

Thanks for now.

    Hi Kathree

Try to run a Full CIL in order to update the .Net library.

If doesn't sort any result, try to debug the code in the old way..

I mean move some Infolog in the core part of code in order to print, i.e. the query used, etc.

Basically, try to understand what happen step by step

    Hello Denis,

    thanks for this.

Although generating full CIL could be a good idea (I am not confident doing it in Production directly tough), debugging would not help me in this case as We can't replicate this issue in a Test environment. This occurs apparently in a "random" way and keeping the job running in a TEST system would not mirror the Production scenario, as clearly the number of sales order get not constantly filled by the users in TEST; that means the first day when we refresh the system it would match, but from the second day on the job would complete simply without processing anything.

I have tried to clear .auc files and usage data for the batch user, restarting the batch server multiple times, disabling the threads, moving the SQL maintenence plans away to avoid any environmental variable...

Hi, did you ever solve this? Exactly same thing happens here. Running on 2012/R2.

    Hi Mathias G ,

Make sure you have checked check mark "Late selection" to yes while defining the query in the batch job. If late selection is not checked then Dynamics batch job will not do anything after the first run.
