I have several returns (Credits) which were created on 12/31/2019. But even though these transaction were created on 2019, when I run the SALES POSTING JOURNAL (Sales Order Processing) The document date shows 1/1/2020, plus I get an error message that says:
** ERROR: The date is not in the current fiscal year.
I wrote a report called "Un-posted Invoice/Returns Register Summary", and the user tells me it is wrong, since they created these return on 2019, but the date shows 2020.
On the database, I ca see that
| CREATDDT | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 |
| MODIFDT | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 | 12/31/2019 |
| DOCDATE | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| GLPOSTDT | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| INVODATE | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| RETUDATE | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| ReqShipDate | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| DUEDATE | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| Tax_Date | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
| DEX_ROW_TS | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 | 1/1/2020 |
There is a strong possibility that the user / machine that posted the transactions was set on a date of 01/01/2020 this is based on the GLPOSTDT field being Jan and not December
I am wondering if the transaction posted in the Sales module but did not post in the Finance module - as that is the one that is concerned with the Fiscal Year. If so, one option would be to restore from backup to correct the posting dates. The other option, and only suggested if you are very comfortable with SQL - if so - you could write scripting to update the dates in the Sales Data - this would not effect the Financial module in any way - and will allow you to process the documents in 2019.
The issue with the ** ERROR: The date is not in the current fiscal year.
This is only corrected by opening a new year in the system. Likely to find that only 2019 year is created. This should again only be done by the Admin and is only available on the System landing page.
Just thoughts, if you have more questions, please be sure to post more.
