same metadata object in multiple assemblies

Hi,

I am getting a very annoying error :

Error Path: [AxEnum/ASCWorkerCategoryEnum/Name]:Metadata object with the same name is defined in multiple assemblies: 'ApplicationSuite,HDD_FieldsMappingExtentionModel' HDD_FieldsMappingProject (VAR) [Overlaying Package HRMFDD] J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\ApplicationSuite\Overlaying Package HRMFDD\AxEnum\ASCWorkerCategoryEnum.xml

I have put those object in that other project yesterday, but I have also deleted them from there and deleted the whole second project (HDD_FieldsMappingExtentionModel project) but I am still getting error that those elements duplicates in two projects. How to delete that metadata from HDD_FieldsMappingExtentionModel ? Thank you.

    Hi Dsatkus,

You can rebuild all models and it should solve this issues.

I tried, but didn't help. It seems that it tries to compile ascWorkerCategoryEnum, but finds the conflict between two projects on this enum and can't compile it.

If I remove the reference to that model where it says is metadata duplicate, it throws an error :

Type 'Dynamics.AX.Application.ASCWorkerCategoryEnum' not found in assembly 'Dynamics.AX.ApplicationSuite, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' Please run a full compilation of the model corresponding to the assembly 'Dynamics.AX.ApplicationSuite, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Just a random thought; can you make sure by going into physical folders if objects are not located there in xml file format. Also you can give a try to full build or build with reference packages, instead of building current package only

Are you building project ? Did you try to build all packages ? (On the Dynamics 365 menu in Visual Studio, click "Build models" and select "(Select all)"

I built only that model I am using, but it was built with errors, saying that 'the enum wasn't not compiled since it was change, try to add it again and compile'. Now I am trying to build all models, but it takes probably an hour.
