Removing country/region context from EDT

Hi,

Is it possible to remove the country/region context when you extend an EDT.

I know thay you can extend the EDT and apply extra countries to it. But I have to do it for >100 countries and I see that the property field has a limit to it.

Can we remove this country/region so it applies to all other countries?

In my case this is for LedgerEndBalanceControl and LedgerJournalEndBalance.

I was able to apply all the required countries by going to the file of the extension itself and paste all the ISO code over there.

But this is not possible in the property function of Visual studio.

Moved to D365 Finance forum.

You can extend an EDT and see what changes are possible in the extension.

Could you let us know if it's possible to remove the country/region context in the EDT extension.

Btw I don't recommend any "hacks" by editing the source code files directly. If you work around the officially supported tools then there's no guarantee that your modifications work tomorrow, even if they work today.

It's not possible to remove the country/region but that doesn't work in my case it will then only show the edt for BE ( Belgium).

Ok, so it seems that it's not possible, as you found out. Is your question now answered, or are there still some open issues?

I still have an issue because as you said I should avoid editing the source file. So right now it is not possible for me to apply the edt to all the required countries. In AX2012 was this easily solved but right now the extension is preventing me remove this restriction.

It seems that your business requirement can't be solved by modifiyng this EDT.

Could you share your business requirement?

The business requirement is following :

The beginning and end balance control on journal names should be editable and visible for all current legal entities(+50 different) and legal entities in the future.

This will enable the control EndBalance on ledger journal transactions.
