    Hi,

Deployment of portals involves deploying all the data/records which are related to portal entities. Microsoft hs released some schemas which can be used within the Configuration Kigration tool to deploy ortals data.

    Refer this articel: docs.microsoft.com/.../migrate-portal-configuration

    Hope this helps.

in addition to Ravi's answer, XrmToolbox also have good tools that helps you moving data (Portal Records Mover is the one I use)

You need to understand the structure of Portal entities, be careful not to move website bindings/etc

Microsoft is working on improving Portal's ALM features

    Hi Ravi,

The problem is the MS tool doesn't support filtering, so I cannot deploy the added/updated portal config data.  Lots of manual work is required to identify the added/update records. Any good idea to share?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

    Hi Oliver,

The tools is pretty good. If I can use it with source control, it would be even better. I will know exactly what and how is changed.

    Thanks

Sorry guys. I was wrong. The latest version of Configuration Migration tool is capable of filtering data by using fetch xml.

    That's nice I haven't checked that

but this looks like it is when setting up a Scheme, it is fine if you are willing to create a scheme from scratch, which is a lot of work

but probably for existing schemes you might not be able to change that easily

Setting up a schema is fine. Without the filtering, manually cleaning the exported xml file to exclude the data I don't need is tons of work.
