Ledger auto allocation doesn't work in PO

Hello,

could somebody help me?? I'm testing ledger auto allocation. I set up vendor balance account to allocate 100% to another GL account. But after purchase invoice registration, no allocation is being created. In previous versions (Ax2009...) it works, but not in Ax 2012. Maybe, I missed any setup?

    Hi Indre,

    Can you explain a bit more on what you try to achieve?

    The ledger allocation rules that you setup in the GL module won't affect your invoice transactions that you record in the AP module.

    If you provide some additional info on the invoice that you are recording and on what you want to achieve exactly, there might be other ways how such an allocation can be realized.

    My question is:

    In Ax2012 changed the logic of auto allocation? Because in Ax 2009 it was possible to allocate all amounts (vendor balance, invent receipt and so one).

    F.e.: every time, when I register purchase invoice with specific project dimension, I have to allocate 50% of vendor balance amount to another account with other department. And as I understood, I can't use auto allocation in this place? I could do it only with allocation rules?

    Hi Indre,

    Can you shows how how you did your setup and what does not work exactly?

    In addition, have you thought about making use of financial template IDs that can be setup in the financial tab of the PO line details form and which will do the allocation you are looking for.

    I made a setup for main acc 5320 allocation to 5310.

    After that, I had registered purchase order and no allocation registered:

    Hi Indre,

    Can you let us know how you setup your allocation?

    Please check especially

    (a) if the main account Parameter 'allocation' is activated

    (b) if the PO line distribution shows the same ledger account-financial dimension combination that is specified in your allocation rule.

    If you cannot get this work, please post some screenshots of your setup allocation rule and PO line distribution.

    Hi Indre,

    Just noticed that you attached some screenprints and that it is the vendor balance amount that you want to have allocated.

    Unfortunately, this does not work with the allocation rules, which can help you allocating the different line amounts that you record for your PO.

    Why is it that you want to have the vendor balance allocated?

    Can't you simply change the accounting setup in the vendor posting profile?

    Maybe my sample was not correct, for example, I need to allocate the part of debt to another department (dimension) and project (dimension) by posting invoice. So, I understood, that in such case I could use only allocation rules.

    Hi Indre,

    There is another periodic allocation process available in General Ledger that can - in my opinion - be used for your purpose. Yet, the allocation rules setup at the main account level won't do that job.
