Is it possible to take an inventory snapshot on any particular day and then block it for later inventory counting? The problem is that I want to block the inventory on every 30th of the month then our counting activity takes around 4 5 days to process, during which all purchase and sales transactions should continue. Once our file is complete, I want to upload it as counting journal on system but it should effect the inventory data blocked on 30th. Rest all transaction effect should be passed as usual.

We are using Microsoft D365

Hi Shafia,

Yes it is possible to do so by enabling parameters in inventory module. This will stop transactions during stock count for all the items.

Hi Shafia

It is only possible if you do not have any transactions after creating your counting journal for that specific day. So if you create the journal on the 1st of each month for the last day of the previous month the on-hand column will only update if someone backdate their transactions on or before the last day of the month.
