How to edit Financial report

Hello guys,

How to edit a Financial report ? I open General Ledger > Inquiry and reports > Financial reports, and choose Income Statement - Default, and I tried to Edit by clicking Edit button, it is downloading something then cannot open, said something about Report designer.

Any add on I should installed first ?

Btw just a quick question also, actually I just want to get the account set up of this Income Statement, is it recorded in some table ? what is the table name ? entity ?

    Hello,

    Are you using chrome to open the report designer? try using edge, the report designer won't open in chrome, it can but you need to add the clickonce app to chrome.

    The report designer will show the set up of the financial reports. 

    There is no data entity for the income statement, the detail of the reports are inside financial reporter designer. (old management reporter)

    It should download an executable which is the editor for these reports. What browser are you using? If you are using Chrome or the new Edge, you need a browser extension. You can read more about these browser requirements here: docs.microsoft.com/.../system-requirements

    Hi,

    Yes, I finally can open it from IE.

    But, my intention is actually to get the row definition of the report, how can I achieve that? is the record saved in different DB ? can other apps access that, for example Power BI.

    The financial reports are using a different storage for the reporting. There are some solutions available for Power BI on LCS and the AppSource: docs.microsoft.com/.../power-bi-home-page

    Need a small clarification. By "my intention is actually to get the row definition of the report, how can I achieve that?" do you mean to say that you just simply want to copy the existing predefined row definition of the report ?

    Hi WWwong,

    If you open the financial reporter console, you should be able to see the report that includes the column and row definitions. From there you can modify the rows as needed.

    Hi Sourav,

    Not really copy, but to use it directly from Power BI.

    I will study the link from Andre first, maybe there are some 'built-in' entity that I can use already.

    Do you need to create/modify a financial report or do you want to create/modify a power BI report?

    Both are based on different concepts/technical features and are independent of each other.

    Can you elaborate on the PowerBI relationship / report mentioned?

    As other people mentioned, Power BI and Management reporter is different.

    Please let us know the details what you need to create/modify report.
