    Hi Marni...

Just came across this post. We are having the same issue - did you ever determine a solution?

    Hello Marni & Dave.

I might have the answer to your "little" problem. I assume it's not a problem with expiration dates on the exchange rates.

The problem might be that the exchange rates that has been defined isn't the same default exchange type setup in the finance parameters. If this is the case then the system will try to retrieve the values from an empty table which naturally would create an error of the type mentioned.

    Hi Dave..

I never received any responses to my question, so gave it to our Partner. It has not been fixed to date, however the last information I received was that our partner determined it to be a 'bug' and were looking for a 'hot fix'. They indicated it was an issue in the AOT reference ID for Average Exchange Rate type vs Default Exchange Rate ID.  I believe the case is still with Microsoft.

    Hi Jesper...

Thank you for your suggestion. I did check the default currency setup and it appears to be per requirements. Note also that I can create, ship and invoice a sales order for the same customer/currency without issue. The only currency error we are receiving is when we are entering project forecasts.

Marni... thanks for the followup. I also believe it is a bug and will add our voice to the issue at MS.

    Hi Marni,

I just worked with Dave Blanchard on this issue and we did find out how to resolve this issue. Many thanks to him for going through all the troubleshooting steps I sent his way.

You should be able to resolve the error with the following steps.

    1. Go to GL > Setup > Currency Exchange Rates

    2. Select Average as the type.

    3. Highlight the USD to CAD combination.

    4. Click Add to add a new exchange rate.

    5. DO NOT enter a start date.

    6. Enter an exchange rate.

    7. Test.

If you still encounter issue try unmarking the the triangulation checkbox for the EUR currency.

    Have a great day!

    Dave B,
