Anyone know if there a query you can run in VS that gives you all the fields in data entity(s) and their metadata properties? Or is their a much simpler way?

F&O comes with a metadata API which can be called from X++, VS plugins or even separate applications.

No, it's not possible, as far as I know. You need to get the whole OData metadata file (which may take a long time, therefore you likely don't want to do it as runtime, or at least not very often) and only then extract what you need. If you want to get information about a single entity at runtime, the metadata API would be a better choice.
