US Sales Taxes for an European NAV version

Hi all,

we currently have an European Navision setup that we need to replicate for a new company in US and therefore we will need to calculate sales taxes.

Do we need to integrate with a third party, or is there any chance to get also US sales taxes module to work with the European one?

Thanks,

Filippo

    you need the NA localization, and depending on where you are shipping the goods, you need the sales tax rate for that location.  if its not a lot of states, you can maintain the data yourself, otherwise load the data from 3rd party.

    Hi Rashed, thank you for your answer. What do you mean by "You need the NA localization"? How do I get it on my current version?

    Moreover, since we're going to ship the goods to all american states, do you have any 3rd party to recommend?

    Thank you!

    hi,

    some suggestions for you.

    You need NA localization of NAV (NAV North American localization) with some american requirementes and features (es Kitting, shipping orders list and orders evadibility status, checks printing etc.; some features are present naow in NAV 2013 as standard),

    you can download here on DynamicsUser (or on Microsoft Partnersource)

    Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 - NA - North American version (USA, Canada and Mexico)

    dynamicsuser.net/.../365674.aspx

    Sales Taxes are different from Europen VAT, you can't use european VAT standard configuration; sales taxes can be different for state\county; very diffucult setup in some states (ex Ohio), simple in others states (ex California), depends where the goods are shipped (ls like europen intrastat)

    You need also to activate G/L integration with inventory that is not considered an auxiliary entry but is mandatory in G/L; you need to build a list with all goods shipped in every state;

    more reports are different from european (ex: inventory evaluation, triall balance etc.)

    i suggest to contact a local partner (ex Sikich) for financial advisor  & support
