Why do you need to import AxDW from onebox to Azure SQL database?

If this target AxDW is connected to a D365FO cloud instance, you can just refresh the database from D365 UI: docs.microsoft.com/.../entity-store-maintenance

supriyatenany, please separate tags with comma and don't prefix them with #. You attached a single long tag #Azure SQL Database #OneBox.

I'm trying to use Power BI reporting with Dynamics 365 on Azure, however the desktop Power BI application Direct Query doesn't work.

That is true, you can't connect with DirectQuery from Power BI desktop application to D365FO production database.

However you can export the aggregate measurements directly from D365FO to Azure SQL. I think the only documentation for that is in the R&D yammer group (www.yammer.com/dynamicsaxfeedbackprograms) - if you have access to it, please try to search with keywords "aggregate byodb".

However some sample code is publicly available in GitHub - maybe that could help you: github.com/.../UpdateAxConfigurationEntity.cs

I don't have personal experience on implementing this.

If you want export standard (non-aggregate) entities, it's very easy and documented here:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/analytics/export-entities-to-your-own-database

I came across some really nice posts except until when I got stuck due to some username/password issue. You might want to check this blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../publish-the-entity-store-database-on-azure-sql-server
