prices include sales tax

Dear experts

I found an unexpected error with Sales order.

I created a sales order with a zero percent sales tax and I forgot to untick Prices include sales tax check box.

After I posted this sales order, I found that its invoice amount is *-1 from net amount in sales order line.

I even can't make credit note because its credit note amount is also -480 and this customer balance has been doubled.

I tested several times and found that  zero percent sales tax and tick mark in Prices include sales tax make this issue and I can't understand this logic.

Can anyone explain me why this happens?

And I'm worrying that users can have same mistakes afterward, so do you have any better setup for preventing this error?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Tina,

The output that you received on the invoice doesn't make sense. If you have vanilla instance, try in that environment as well. If there are no customizations, suggest that you open ticket with MS and obtain hotfix.

    Hi Tina,

Why you tick the price include sales tax button if there is no sales tax included?

What kind of business scenario is that?

Usually item prices / sales prices are defined net and sales tax is added on top.

Is this a retail related business transaction?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thank you Ludwig

We untick include sales tax button if this is zero rate sales tax transaction.

It was by mistake and result was unexpected, and this is why I want to understand this logic better.

    Hi Tina,

I have hardly seen that companies tick the parameter except if they do business in the retail area.

If this is not the case for you then I would recommend always leaving the parameter unchecked and setting up your tax rates correspondingly to deal with net prices.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig

    Thank you for your advice.

Can you let me know what is the logic for calcualating invoiced amount if that button has tick mark?

I can't understand why negative amount has been shown in invoiced amount .

    Thank you in advance

    Tina

    Hello Tina,

What AX2012 version are you on?

If you operate an older one then have a look at LCS first and the hotfixes that have been released for this parameter setting.

    fix.lcs.dynamics.com/.../Results

I found quite some and it might be the case that the voucher you see is a result of one of those 'old' bugs.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
