Hello,
Currently in my organization there are 4 instances: 2 sandbox environments, 2 production environments.
Each set (1 sandbox 1 production ) belongs to another department total 4 environments. Total number of users over 50. Hence, I understand that I am eligible for the basic license of D365 for markiting free of charge.
My question is how many instances do I qualify? Only one? A set of 2?
Can anyone help me?
Alex.
Hi Megan,
Thanks for the detailed response.
So I understand that if I want to use Dynamics 365 for Marketing under a basic license I can install it on only one environment and of course it will be the production environment. My follow-up question What are the limitations to this license ?
Hi Alexyyou,
If you are talking about the free version of Dynamics 365 for Marketing which is available if you have 10 or more C+E or Dynamics Plan licenses (or a combination of the 2 which sums to 10), then you are eligible for one license per tenant, regardless of how many licenses you have over and above the 10. The free Marketing instance comes with a minimal number of Marketing contacts, so if you plan to have only the single instance, you will likely have to purchase contact packs. If you wish to have additional instances, a secondary instance is available at a reduced cost. Marketing is licensed based on contacts marketed to, not users, so you can have as many users as you wish.
We understand that people want to usually have at least a Sandbox and production instance and this is being reviewed by our product management groups and evaluated for potential change at sometime in the future.
Thanks,
Megan
