Internal Version Mismatch

Hello All, I am tasked with cleaning up a clients infrastructure but have little experience with Dynamics AX.

Their Dynamics AX server is flooded with the following event 151

Object Server 01: Internal version mismatch. Microsoft Dynamics AX Client from 'Client_Machine' (5.0.1500.4570) tried to attach with 5.0.1500.5660 revision of AOS kernel.

The client version indicates Rollup Update 7. I see that Rollup Update 8 is available. I am not too sure how that Kernal version comes into play (no references to 5660). If I simply update the clients to Rollup Update 8 will that resolve the issue?. Or should the Kernal be upgraded as well?.

Where can these KB updates be obtained?, I can't seem to locate them through the usual channels.

    Hi,

Some hotfix (not packed rollups) is probably applied to the AOS and they forget to apply the same hotfix to the client. Hopefully your client would have some sort of record on that?

You can search and request for hotfixes with CustomerSource or PartnerSource access.

    Regards,

    Dominic

    Hello Cameronf!

You can try to copy the entire cliente folder from the server and copy replacing the client folder from your workstation.

The client folder for AX2009 is usually located under the following way:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\50

It is not necessary to stop AX servisse or reboot server or workstation.

    don t copy!

there are also dll in the Global assembly cache

    just path the ax clients.

    5.0.1500.4570  2009 SP1 Hotfix Rollup 7 (RU7)

    5.0.1500.6491  2009 SP1 Hotfix Rollup 8 (RU8)

you have to find the applied fix, or kernel update all to ru8
