Vendor Catalog Import in AX7

Hi everyone,

I am using vendor catalog import functionality for the first time in AX & in AX7.

With reference to the below blog

I created an Import job for vendor catalogs. At this stage there is an option for uploading an Import File.

Now i have the following questions

1.How do i generate a template which i can share it with the Supplier so that he can provide data as per AX requirement.

2.The blog says only XML is supported. But in certain areas it was also mentioned that the Source can also be CSV, tab seperated or XML ? My requirement is to use excel format for upload. Can we do this?

3.I found an option to generate Catalog template but it gives an error saying Function not supported.

Path: Procurement & Sourcing / Catalogs/Vendor Catalogs - In this list page under Related Information      -> Generate Catalog Template.

Can anyone suggest on how to proceed on the same.

    Hi Vikram,

    Its easy to generate CMR file than Ax2012. Except CMR file generation remaining steps are common for Ax2012 and Ax7

    Go to System administration-> Workspaces -> Data management -> Click Export ->

    Select either XML-element or XML-Attribute as  Target Data format

    Select "vendor catalog" as entity name

    Make sure Generate data package is "Yes"

    Save Export format or click Add entity. Export configuration will be saved

    Click "Download" Button on Ribbon Bar. It will download package .

    Extract the compressed file. 3 files will be shown.

    Open the vendor catalogs file in the XML format.

    Its not aligned properly.

    After alignment add your product value

    Please refer sample working file on CU2.

    We could not import  product images and attributes

    In this PRODUCTSUBTYPE>Product</PRODUCTSUBTYPE> is either Product/ Product master

    Hi,

     I've tried but failed to import using the data you provided. The Event log said it is invalid CMR and there is no valid product to import.

    Any idea?

    Hi Nicholas,

    Generate new CMR file as mentioned on step and try.

    Don't use double quotes(") for data ex: <PRODUCTNUMBER>"MSA001"</PRODUCTNUMBER>

    Did you manage to get this working ?

    I'm also getting the same error message "There are no valid products to import"
