Can't find the Dynamics 365 for Sales icon on the home page

Hi,

We have assigned "Dynamics 365 Plan 1 Enterprise Edition" licenses to our users.

After the user login to Office 365 and start the Dynamics 365 Home page, it only shows "You don't have any apps yet". From the online user manual, there should have "Sales", "Customer Service" icons under MY APPS (depends on the license), but we can't find them.

Please advise any setting or configuration we have missed ?

Thank you very much.

Morgan, thank you! The app launcher button was a red herring that I spent way too much time chasing. BTW, it looks like the admin portal URL has now changed. This worked for me: port.crm.dynamics.com/.../InstancePicker.aspx

    Hi,

When you use the Office 365 Admin Center to create user accounts for every user who needs access to Dynamics 365 (online).

The first step is Add a license to a user account.

The second step is Assign a security role to a user.

You missed the 2nd step, so your users couldn't login to Dynamics 365.

For more information, you could take a look at the following article.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/create-users-assign-online-security-roles

    Hope it helps.

    BR,

    Judy

Sharing this for others who might get stuck here.

If you start at http://portal.office.com and login here you'll land on a page which shows you all your apps. Clicking on the Dynamics 365 link from here will take you to - https://home.dynamics.com/?autolaunch=true

That is not your Dynamics instance. The correct URL should look something like <your instance name>.crm.dynamics.com.

If you forgot what you used for the name you can go here: https://port.crm.dynamics.com/G/manage/index.aspx and that will show you all your instances. Click on your instance and there will be a button which says "Open".

Review the CRM Security Role and and App Design links:

    www.microsoft.com/.../manage-access-to-apps-with-security-roles.aspx

    www.microsoft.com/.../design-custom-business-apps-by-using-the-app-designer.aspx
