Database Log Scheduled Export to a Specified Location

Greetings!

Currently, I manually exporting the database log (System Administration > Inquiries > Database > Database Log) as a CSV File twice a week. It automatically exports to the "Downloads" folder on my local computer.  I would like to know if there is a way that I can change the destination to a Sharepoint location or Network folder so that it can be accessed by the Quality Control Department as needed? Also, I'm hoping to set up a recurrence to eliminate the manual initiation need.

As far as the destination, the preference is to have it go to a Sharepoint location so that we can assign record retention rules to the folder. This is so that I can use the Clean Up Log to purge the lines out of D365 in order to avoid bogging down the yet still have access to the records for 7 years (in the external folder).

Similarly, I am also trying to find out how I can set up the Clean Up Log on a recurrence so that records have been exported to Sharepoint/Specified Network Location will be purged after 30-90 days (TBD).

Attached are screenshots which depict how I manually export the database log now. Please note that I do not have the recurrence (3rd screenshot) active.

If anyone could please let me know how I can change the destination, set up a recurring export to that location and/or configure the Clean Up Log to purge on a specified schedule, I would much appreciate it! I'm also open to hearing of a better way to manage this if there is one. Thank you so much!

You can't export to file system from batch, since D365FO has no way of accessing your file system. But as suggested, you could send it in email from the batch. If needed, you can then use Flow or LogicApps to react to the email and save the attachment to a Sharepoint folder.

    Hi Dreena,

You need to check batch processing to recur the operation, but system does not support printing to file with a batch, please see my screenshot:

And it doesnot work even if the file print destination path is changed.

Have a look the setup in AX: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/print-or-email-a-report-on-a-recurring-basis

Do you think about exporting database log with an email?
