Discount Lists not working when adding products for Work Orders in Field Service

Posted on by 343

Hi,

I have a product which is linked with a discount list. When I am adding that product to Quote or in Opportunity lines, it is working fine and the discount list is also effective. But when I am adding the same product for a Work Order, it is not reflecting the discount list discounts which are working when adding the same product for Quote or Opportunity.

Is there anything that I am missing or why it is like this? I saw one thread on the community forum similar to this but there is no answer to this. Can someone please help or suggest something.

Thanks.

Discount Lists not working when adding products for Work Orders in Field Service
Ensuring that discount lists work properly is crucial for us because we regularly offer discounts to help with the high cost of groceries. Our focus isn’t just on making a profit; we’re dedicated to supporting our community by providing quality food at affordable prices. We also make sure to donate food that’s still good but not suitable for sale, rather than wasting it. You can explore our latest discounts at theDiscountCodes and find something that fits your needs!

It is a good solution to the problem. We also need discount lists to work flawlessly now because our shop tries to make discounts as often as possible. The groceries are really expensive now, and we try to make the lives of our customers a little easier.
Profit is not the only thing that matters to us, and we intend to play an important role in society by providing the best food at a good price. We also don’t throw away food that is not that good anymore but give it away to people who want that. You can find our shop at a heydiscount and check what discounts we have now. Hope that you will find something for yourself too.

    Hi Waleed,

The discount list in Sales Hub and the Entitlement in Field Service are both discounts, but one is for discounts on products sold to customers, and the other is for discounts on after-sales for products or services, etc. The two are actually different concepts.

For Work Order level, currently only Entitlement can set discounts. Entitlement also only offers a percentage discount option, not a numerical discount option.

So unfortunately your needs cannot be met.

RE: Discount Lists not working when adding products for Work Orders in Field Service

    Hi Nya,

    Thanks for the above information.

What I am trying to achieve I think it is not possible through entitlements. I want a product with negative entry at Work Order level. I can do this with Quote and Opportunity lines but here with Work Order it it not working.

I added a product with name as Discounts. That product is linked with a standard pricelist which has a pricelist item with price set as 0. That price list item is linked to a discount list which gives 100 discount. So, at quote and opportunity level, when I am adding this product, it gives me negative value (-100). Same I want to achieve at Work Order Level?

Can you help me how can I do this at Work Order level? Or if you know any work around for that?

    Hi, Waleed

The discounts that you need for Work Order should be set up as the following steps:

    1. Create an Entitlement from Settings > Service Delivery > Entitlement and activate it.

    • Entitlement is used to set prices and discounts for Work Order products or services.
    • The Primary Customer here is the same as the Billing Account of the Work Order.
    • It’s Entity Type must be Work Order.
    • Relate it to the Price List which contains the product you need to add into the Work Order.
    1. Add the product into the Work Order.

    1. In the Other tab of the Work Order Product, Relate the Entitlement with it.

    1. The discount can be seen in the Estimate Information tab.
