Hi Mark,
What environment are you currently in?
Do you want to change the name of the database in UAT or the local development environment?
Are you now exporting the UAT environment to the tier 1 environment and changing the database name? you can export the UAT database through the documentation and import it in the tier 1 environment and then change the database name in SSMS simply.

execute below query , it will rename the existing AxDB to AxDB_old or you can name whatever you want

GO
ALTER DATABASE AxDB MODIFY NAME = AxDB_Old
ALTER DATABASE AxDB_Old SET MULTI_USER;
