    HI Donny,

The Dynamics CRM import wizard can help create new entities and fields when importing an excel file, as their is an option to 'Create New' so you can use it to create new options, when you create the Mappings

I hope this helps? Kindly Verify :)

    Best Wishes, Raz

    Hi Scott,

I have tried it, unfortunately I can't event connect to the online deployment. Every possible combinations have been tried.

Besides, the CSV import doesn't seem to work: optionsetmanager.codeplex.com/.../551791

Hi Donny, it's an old post but did you manage to import values for a Global Option Set? I am struggling with the same issue. I would like to create a complete country list [195 records].

    Crude workaround -

    1) create the option set as a local option set

    2) do the standard Excel import to populate this local option set

    3) use XRMtoolbox to convert the local option set to a global option set.

    It's not pretty - but if you've got a big list to import . . .

You can use the Solution Translation tool Export/Import, to import what so ever list from excel to the global/Local option set, just create the number of "Items" in the option set, then export the translation, then edit the xml in excel Copy/Paste the list values then import back the translation to the solution, you will get all the value with out need to edit them manually

RE: Import Global Option Set values

One of the easiest methods of accomplishing this is to use a record import to indirectly create the required Option Set values at local level. If you don't mind using Local Option Sets and you have a large number of options this might be more efficient than creating a Global Option Set and manually input those values.

A complete guide for this workaround can be accessed here: www.tkisolutions.com/msdyncrm-tip-quickly-create-values-for-option-sets

I can't get the conversion to work.  It seems to step through all the steps but the actual conversion is never made.  Yes I'm using the new Attribute Manager conversion tool.
