Dashboard clear out - Removal/Unsharring of custom dashboards

Posted on by
Hi,

I have a recurring request to support users within my organisation to help clear out old redundant dashboards and advanced filter lists they have on their profile. The issue is that a lot of the dashboards in question are custom dashboards created by users who have left the business or move roles, no longer have CRM access but did not assign the views over to anyone as owner before leaving.

The dashboards remain on my colleagues dashboard drop down list but they cannot edit, share, un-share or delete these due to not being given the permissions originally. This results in an untidy CRM user experience as well as in some cases, where the dashboard is still in use, having to recreate a duplicate dashboard of which they are the owners and can now edit and share with other colleagues.

I have liaised with our IT support on this but there does not seem to be any clear way forward on how to either access these custom views and edit the permissions or re-assign to colleagues as owner from the original owner or indeed simply remotely delete these views.

Any suggestions to this issue welcomed!

Many thanks
Stephen
