Automatically get Parent Account Data in Contact Quick Create

Posted on by 550

Hi together,

I've given a task that I can't solve and maybe somebody can help me....

So, when a client wants to create an opportunity and he wants to quick create a contact, who he needs,
the fields should be automatically filled out with the data (street, city, country, etc) of the parent account of the contact when chosen in the contact form (field Account Name).

Does anybody has an idea how to solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance and best regards

Mick

    Hi Wei,

I have decided to write a small script to get data from the parent account for contact and lead (both forms - normal and quick create).

That works fine, because the users see the changes directly.

But of course and once again: thanks for your help!

    Hi,

If you are using workflow, the result only show up when the record is saved.

    Hi,

You can create a workflow to do so that if you do not want any code involved. But of course, it needs to wait until user click save.

Do check out the link shared by Clement and Mahen.

Since you are on CRM 9.0, avoid using the Xrm.Page methods and use the 'getFormContext' methods as the former is going to be depreciated.
