posting account is not setup for deduction code - payroll error in GP2013

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear All,

I upgraded GP 2010 into GP2013 two weeks ago. after upgrade when i am running payroll, i am getting the error " posting account is not setup for deduction code".

since i still having the GP2010 Databases in old server, i aging ran the payroll on my old GP2010 server to see whether i am getting same error. But i did not get any error on GP2010 and i could successfully run the payroll.

I Cross checked the settings in both GP2010 and GP2013 payroll setup but i couldn't find any differences in settings.

Appreciate if  anyone could help me to fix the issue.

Thanks,

Nishan.

    Thank your for your reply.

I deleted old deduction codes and created new codes.

My issue was resolved with new deduction codes .

    Thanks.....

Since you still have access to your GP2010 environment, I suggest taking a screenshot of the Payroll Posting Account Setup window in 2010 (Tools / Setup / Posting / Payroll Accounts -- change the "Payroll Account Type" to "Deductions.")

Then, open the same window in GP2013 and make sure they are the same.

Since the upgrade, have you added any new deduction codes? Have you inactivated/deleted any GL accounts?  In the Payroll Posting Accounts Setup, for the deduction codes, do you have a "catchall" posting line, where the Department, Position, and Code are all set to ALL?

If everything appears to be correct in this window, you can try right-clicking each line and choosing "Delete Row." Then, add the lines back, based on the screenshot from GP2010. This might just reset whatever is causing your problem.
