Hi, I have been trying to get Email Logging to function, I have not been able to find instructions for my exact scenario which is NAV 2017 and an on premise Exchange 2013. The instructions i did find were for NAV 2015,16,18 and it seems to me, that the creation of a Server Instance and Job Queue(s) is slightly different.
Currently I can drag an email from my Inbox into the Queue folder and it will process into the Storage folder. An Interaction Log Entry is created, however, when I choose Show Attachment to read the email, I immediately receive a dialogue box that indicates "Link address is not valid".
How I got to that point:
I created a 'Logging' public folder with two sub folders, one is 'Queue' the other is 'Storage'. In Marketing Setup | Email Logging, I have specified an AutoDiscovery Email Address and browsed to the Queue and Storage folders, and successfully validated Logging Setup.
I then created a new server instance on the NAS, I named it EMAIL. Here is where the documentation begins to differ from what I had. I had a FastTab for Management Services, SOAP Services and OData Services, but not one for Server, so I used the Client FastTab. I gave these unique Port numbers, 7745, 7747, 7748, 7746 respectively. I entered "450" in the NAS Services | Startup Codeunit field. I entered "CRD" (one of my companies) in the General | Services Default Company field because I did not find a Company Field on the NAS Services tab which seems to be where the documentation indicated it should have been? I used my Domain Administrator for the user account that will start the service. I intend to change that account once I've gotten the solution working.
I then attempted to setup the job queue, but again the documentation was different than what my NAV was showing me. I created a new Job Queue Category List code named LOGGING. I could not find Job Queues as instructed, my NAV only had Job Queue (singular) which is a list of Job Queue components. Therefore I could not create a new queue code call ELQ with a description of Email logging Queue. Nor could I choose the Job Queue Category Filter and set it to LOGGING, nor select Start Automatically from NAS. I was able to create a Job Queue Entry that runs Codeunit 5065. I then started the EMAIL server instance created earlier.
So, like I mentioned earlier, I can drop a received email from a known NAV contact into the Queue folder, it processes to the Storage folder and creates an Interaction Log Entry, but I cannot "Show Attachment" because "Link address is not valid" A second concern I have is I did not see anywhere to enable or configure logging to occur on outbound email.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Brent
