Selective import of customers from DataEntity D365 Finance and operations

Hi

Hope you all are doing well!

I have a situation I have to import customers into D365FO using standard entity custCustomerEntity. The CSV file provided by the customer contains some customers which thy don't need anymore in FO, customers who are not required are identified by some field. Is there a way to achieve it. i.e to import only selective customers using x++ and dataentity.

Please note that we have come bit far in the project so we cant create a new custom table and import the customers there and then from there create required customers or any other similar solution we cant do. is there anything we can do in std entity we can duplicate the entity and try out other stuffs.

Best regards

P

    Hi Pradeep,

    Do you have code?
Have you ever tried adding judgement filters to import CSV data, removing the fields with the identifiers you mentioned?

    Hi Pradeep,

in my opinion the better way to achieve the results is to ask the data extraction team to populate the CSV file with the needed records only.

If you are unable to do so, consider filtering the CSV file using Excel and remove the lines before importing in staging.

Another thing you can do is to import all the records in staging and, before to copy data to target, filter and delete the records you don't want to import.

    I hope I was helpful,

    Ciao
