Costing issue in Transfer orders

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I have a problem and I would highly appreciate your help!

When I transfer one item from one Warehouse to another using the standard functionality of Transfer orders, I receive a cost amount discrepancy in the receiving warehouse

Look at the screenshot please

It's a rarely behavior - not every time. Why does it happen?

    Hi Vasilena,

It's possible this is a localization specific issue, but I'm not seeing any known issues on this right now. Without the steps taken to reproduce the issue, I can't say for certain the cause. It sounds like this may be just occasional, but are there any commonalities you see when it occurs? Maybe we can narrow down what is involved when the issue does occur.

Another option would be to submit a support request for our engineers to investigate this further with you.

    Hi Ludwig,

Yes, we are using the Russian localisation.

Regarding the inventory recalculations, we have tried running the recalculation process many times but the difference has left the same. In other words, the recalculation didn't solve the issue.

In addition, in some cases we meet this behavior in the Shipping WH, not only in the Receiving WH transaction. But in the transit warehouse the value is always correct and without difference.

    Kind Regards,

    Vasilena

    Hi Vasilena,

You run your system with the Russian configuration for the item model group that has multiple inventory modules available.

Are you operating AX in a Russian environment or has this been modified?

Also, have you already tried running an inventory recalculation to see if this fixes the issue?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

Thank you very much for your help!

Actually, we do not use standard costs, at all. The setup is on average cost for this item.

You can see more details on the screenshot. 2020_2D00_03_2D00_12_5F00_17_2D00_03_2D00_56.jpg

In this case what would be the solution in order not to meet this problem with the transfer orders? Any different setup?

    Thanks again!

    Hello Vasilena,

Do you make use of the moving average inventory valuation method?

    If so, this can happen.

Another scenario where this can happen is if you make use of standard costs and have different standard costs setup for different inventory dimensions (sites).

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
