Hi folks,

I am facing below error while i am doing AOT synch, I have imported customization work in USR layer first then i removed all customization as i needed it to be performed on VAR layer, after removing all customization objects i have created VAR configuration and synchronized the AOT. Here i am facing below error.

Error: The new name 'ALLOWEDITCREDITCARDEXCHRATE' is already in use as a COLUMN name and would cause a duplicate that is not permitted. Cannot execute a data definition language command on ().

could anyone help me to resolve this?

You probably have some table IDs/field IDs in the SQLDictionary table out of sync. May need to open Sql server management studio and do some manual data manipulation to the sqldictionary table so the IDs match whats actually in AX.

Hi, you need to remove the field in question manually from the table in SQL Sever and then synchronise the whole database again. Don't remove the field in there's data for that field in the table because the data will be lost. It seems that the field in question was not dropped when you removed the customisations from the usr layer.

Hi Anton/Kyle thanks for replying,

I have carefully removed all customized objects from AOT, so there is no chance of missing this. I have tried to delete this field and synch table again but it's not working. Kyle can you be little more specific about the SQL manipulation commands, what operations do i require to perform on SQL server management studio? Please reply.

Hi Sangram

Follow the Anton suggestion, for sure works. Then is enough to sync only the table where you face the issue

Lastly, you could :

1- Backup the DB on SQL side

2- Create another DB and restore the backup done to the step 1

3- Move the AOT Table in memory ( this one is deleted from SQL )

4- Move the AOT Table again as regular

5- Sync the Table

6- From SQL, restore the data, so point to the Database and use the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard feature

have you imported customizations on VAR layer ? can you share which table this column has, check synchronize it,

does this column exists in physical table at sql layer ?

Hi abdul i didn't import customizations on VAR layer, I'll import them after resolving all AOT synch errors. SQL Statement: SP_RENAME '"DBO".TRVPARAMETERS.MEALREDUCTIONTYPE','ALLOWEDITCREDITCARDEXCHRATE','COLUMN'

Table name is TRVParameters, I am getting same type of errors for different table as well.

Hi Folks,
The error is resolved, i have followed below steps:
1) Renamed the table name "TRVParameters" to "TRVParameters_Old" from SQL server.
2) Switched to AX and synchronized the "TRVParameters" table.
3) Switched to SQL Server and refreshed the database, this will pop up two tables with names- i) TRVParameters and ii) TRVParameters_Old
4) Now renamed the tables TRVParameters to TRVParameters_1 and TRVParameters_Old to TRVParameters
5) Again switched to AX and synchronized the TRVParameters table, error got resolved.
6) Dropped table "TRVParameters_1" from SQL server.
