We a have dashboard which is same accross all the apps in an instance..I want to alter the same dashboard for one or two of the apps...Can it be possible ?

Create a new dashboard for the respective app that will be the ideal solution.

Even if you remove the view from the app, it will not be removed from Dashboard as it is already referenced. This will only remove the view from the entity view list for that app.
As Pradeep Suggested, You will have to create a new dashboard for each app.
removing View from app designer is not removing it from dashboard though its not a default views. As far i remember this feature was there earlier.

As the dashboard same across all the apps.
If you make any changes in any dashboard then it will be visible to all apps.
I would suggest to go with creation of new dashboard and add them only in required apps by using app designers.
