Return Order Scrap Process using Advanced Warehouse Management in AX 2012 R3

Hi friends,

I am processing a return order using disposition code 61 (for SCRAP) for a default warehouse which has the 'Use Warehouse management process' check box ticked and has a Quarantine Warehouse attached. The Quarantine warehouse setup did not allow to tick the 'Use warehouse management process' check box.

I was able to process return order for all other disposition codes except for the Scrap.

When I do the Registration process for a return order using advanced WMS in AX 2012 R3, I keep getting the following attached message and cannot proceed. The journal number changes each time I try to re-process.

Please advice to fix this to process the return order using Scrap disposition code using Advanced warehouse management in AX 2012 R3.

Hi Neeta,

Yes advance warehousing and quarantine do not work together.

It a standard error and comes if two users normally try and update the same record at the same time.

Try killing your session for the mobile device and try again.

Hi Neeta,

Does your Quarantine Warehouse have Default issue location and Default receipt location set?

Do you know how to process a return using the Arrival overview -> Item arrival journal functionality? If you do it that way, does it work ok if you use the Scrap disposition code? (Just trying to eliminate whether there is any problem with the quarantine order, not suggesting this becomes your normal solution!).

Good morning.

Thank you for the verification points. Please find my reply as below,

1. The Default issue location and Default receipt location are not set. I did not get any reference to set them, hence I have left them blank. Please advice if I shall set them.

2. Yes, I am aware of the Arrival overview -> Item arrival journal functionality. I did try that and have got the following message. Please also find the other related screenshots attached for the return order (61-scrap disposition code), arrival overview, item arrival journal forms, return order form, sales order for return order type form.

Please advise for a fix. Appreciate you support and help.

In the Inventory module, create a single location in the Quarantine warehouse (you'll also need to create an Aisle). Assign this location on the Warehouses setup form as the Quarantine warehouse's Default issue location and Default receipt location. Then try to receive the return order via the mobile device.

The error you get from the Item arrival journal seems to be saying that the location 10_1_1_4 is a user location. You are not allowed to use User locations. Check if the Location profile of location 10_1_1_4 is also defined at Warehouse management parameters -> General -> Location profiles -> User location profiles. The User location profile should not be used on any real locations physical in your Warehouse.

Hi Guy,

Thank you for the support.

1. The item arrival journal warning message related to 10_1_1_4 location is sorted. I assigned a different location with a non-user location profile id. Thank you.

2. I did assign a Default issue location and Default receipt location to the Quarantine warehouse and have linked this Quarantine warehouse to my Default warehouse. I still get the following message while using the mobile device function.

Please find attached the quarantine warehouse setup, default warehouse setup and mobile device setup screenshots as well.
