Change Record Ownership

Hi

I am new to dynamics 365 and need some help to resolve this issue, described below.

In our organisation, we have different companies assigned to different employees. For example Company A and its records have  Abby as owner, Company B  and its records bear Bhia as owner. The issue  is when Company B takes over some of the records which belong to Company A, and the company name was changed from Company A to Company B,  the name of the record owner did not get updated to Bhia. This had to be manually done.

Any suggestions on how to auto update record owner name as as soon as company name changes?

    Hi

    This is as expected, the only way to automate this will be through a custom workflow, that executes when the company name gets changed, in the workflow you can assign the record.
