Hi,
Is there a way of changing the company "dat" code? I mean, I want it to be another code instead of "dat".
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Ana Alves.
Hi Ana,
Can I ask you what is the purpose? This is the default company provided by Microsoft.
You can just change the display name but not ID value.
There are two fields.
1. ID - DAT
2. Name - It can be changed.
Go to Organization Administration > Organizations > Legal entity
Hello Ana!
You can change the name of the DAT legal entity, but you can´t change the company.
So you'll have YOURNAME but the company will still as dat.
Have a nice day!
Ana.
Hi Parag,
I want to change the code so I can have a value that has more meaning to my company (according to the company name).
Thanks for your help.
This is what I suggested above.
Indeed, Id is the primary key field and cannot be changed once the record created.
Besides changing the name, you can add new legal entities with your own coding. Historically, this 'dat' coding was inherited from the Dynamics AX product. The 'dat' company is a default to be able to store global data. However, all or almost all tables are global in the Human Resources application. When you create legal entities with your own coding system, you can use it in the employments. The 'Employees' workspace will show the workers of type employee for the current selected legal entity which can be changed in the top-right corner of the application.
