Canadian Payroll Year-end update issue (supported version)

Hello and happy holiday for everyone 

I'm having issue with applying the year end update for GP.

Can the year end update applied against V. 18.4.1384 or am I supposed to apply Jan update then Mar and Mid year update first?

    In my case as I have 2 ennvironmnets: Test and Production 

    Initially I did a dumm thing by restoring Dynamics db and only one company db from Prod into Test. 

    When I attempt to apply the payroll update in the test env. and ran the utility I got the error :There was a problem ascertaining product version information

    when I checked the DUInstall file, it complained about product 2150 cannot be upgraded. then I thought maybe NOT all db companies in the test env. are in the same version.

    so I decided to restore all companies db plus dynamics db from Prod into Test, also copied the GP folder from Prod.  

    I applied the Payroll update that time with no error.

    Are you getting a version error or what are you seeing?

    From this article > learn.microsoft.com/.../can18yetax > I do see it mention the following:

    "The 2022 Year-End Update / 2023 Tax Update supports Microsoft Dynamics GP (18.5). To identify the Microsoft Dynamics GP release you're using, start the application and choose Help >> About Microsoft Dynamics GP.

    To identify the Canadian Payroll release you're using, start Microsoft Dynamics GP, then open the Payroll Control Setup – Canada window (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >>Tools >> Setup >> Payroll – Canada >> Control). You should see the release number in the upper left corner of the window."

    However, if you're on 18.4, you should be able to apply the latest release/MSP we have for Dynamics GP, you don't need to apply all of them because each patch is inclusive meaning it includes everything that came before it.
