Enterprise portal install hang AX2012 R2

Hi,

Trying to install EP for AX 2012 R2 CU6 - I've followed various guides online and have sharepoint installed correctly as far as I can see.

When I go to add Enterprise portal in the AX setup - all pre req's are met, the BC account connects, and it recognises my SharePoint port 80 application and the install begins.

It hangs however at the point, "Performing Post installation configuration actions for Enterprise Portal (EP).

I cannot get past this point - can anyone point me in the right direction?

    * check SharePoint center administration events status. if there is an error in services

    * check windows event viewer during installation to check propagated error during installation which cause this issue

    Hi Kauto,

    Please check the Log file when you try to install EP at the location below:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Setup Logs

    Check for the error status and description...

    We are having the exact same problem with R3-CU10.  How were you able to resolve this and get EP to install?

    Hi John,

    Forgot that I had posted this.  I can't recall but I think I had to ensure that my application was fully compiled and with full CIL generation before attempting to install the portal as an add-on.

    Being honest, a lot of the weird errors you get with AX 2012 are resolved through having an error free, full CIL compiled application.

    Hi John,

    Are you still experiencing this issue? As Kauto said you should have a working Ax environment since there are some calls done into AX by the installer. Do you get any info in the Event viewer?

    Hi Iulian,

    We still have the issue, but have not yet tried to install it after doing a full compile & CIL.  We have a hotfix to install on an unrelated issue.  Our current plan is to try the EP install right doing the hotfix and performing the software update checklist.

    We were able to get this installed after running the CMD compiler, full CIL, and database sync.  On a side note, we turned off all of our AOS servers except for one and pointed the EP installer to that AOS.  It installed with no issues inside of 20 minutes tops.
