Hi experts,

I would like to get values of ID and Name in one record from Lookup back to each fields in the original form.

However, only one of value (like an ID) from record is returned.

Could you give me any ideas?

Best regards,

What table it is? Doesn't it use the SurrogateKey as the primary key? If so, simply use a reference group control and pick a field group containing both ID and Name. Using a single foreign key instead of duplicating values of several fields is how the relational databases should be designed in most cases.

    Dear Martin,

    Sorry to reply late.

    1. We created new header and detail tables. this header has id and name, this detail has header's id and own detail's id.

    2. We created a new form which has a grid where are header's id,headers' id name, detail's id and detail's name.

    3. There is a lookup field for header's id in grid. Header id's lookup form shows header's id and header's name.

    4. When selected any id from lookup form, header's id is returned header's id field in grid. But header's name isn't returned header's name field in grid.

Do I have to create a display method for header's name field in grid?

Do I need to use ReferenceGroup?

If it's your table, you definitely should do what I said; I didn't if you're not dealing with some standard tables developed before AX 2012. Forget display methods; it would be more work for worse result (unable to filter, performance degradation etc.).

Use SurrogateKey as the primary key of the header table and refer to this key (not just the ID field) from other tables. Then use a reference group to display the data and used a replacement group containing both  header ID headers name fields. Here you can see an example.
