We have Dynamics GP 18.4 installed and modern authentication setup for email functionality as described in the article .
Currently Dynamics GP prompts the users to authenticate against Azure for every session when workflow with email message triggers, seems this is the default behavior.
Does anyone know if this can be avoided? i.e., using silent authentication/stored credentials.
Is there a way to install & setup GP web services (single tenant) on https instead of http?
One of our Payments workflow has level1 and level2 approvals with Mail Message configured, only level1 approver is notified but level2 approvers never gets a notification.
what could be the issue here?
Appreciate your answers/leads to resolve above issues.
Please enter a suggestion below if you would like to see the product changed in the future around the login.
Depending on your detail version, we have had many changes / fixes with workflow as well when you turn on Modern Auth and notifications may not be sending.
Most of it was fixed with 18.4.1461
If you are on that and still having issues, I would refer to our 18.5 fix list.

Otherwise, you may need to create a support ticket so we can further review the issue you are having and your workflow.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
1) I think entering credentials per every session for triggering mail message is not a viable solution, it will be nice if it allows to configure the user account to be used to authenticate against outlook or support single sing-on.
Also would prefer to have generic/shared email as mail message from address but it is currently the user (whoever authenticating against outlook) email address.
2) I have already looked into URL that details changing web services from http to https, sorry i didn't mentioned it in my initial post.
Do you know why can't this be part of web services installation and setup?
Its additional work and may cause issues accessing webservices if anything missed during the configuration changes.
3) Any clues about why system is not triggering mail message for level 2 approver?
Thanks,
Hello,
You are correct you will need to authenticate per user GP login session for the day as an example. Once I login to GP in the morning, I will authenticate once and that is it for the day, unless I log out of GP, then I will need to Authenticate again. This is the design of GP Modern Auth. We do not store the login session.
Here is a blog on the web services.
Thanks
