is it possible to open another database different than the default one on AL object designer  ??!

for example, i've    1- Demo Database BC (15-0)  Default one

2- DemoData the vs code & object designer open the first one by default

so , how could i make the object designer open the second DB

i also have change in BC Administration the DB Name to myDB and re download the symbols and restart the vs  but unfortunately no thing change,

the AL Object Designer in VS still  open the default DB ??! any suggest ?!!

I have the same question (0)

With Visual Studio Code you are developing against an instance of an NST which is connected to a database.

Once you have make sure the NST instance is connected to the correct database within e.g. the administration console and you have restart the NST instance after you changed the database name, your VS Code should consider that change.

In your launch.json file you setup the connection to the NST instance you want to use.

    Dear Sebastian Röttel,

i already change the database name across the NST Instance and restarted the service and re-download Symbols , also created new Project throw the VS Code but the AL Object Designer still look at the Default DB.

    Hi Mostafa,

for troubleshooting reason, I would start the webclient just to verify it connect to the db you are expecting.

Another easy way to verify that nothing is wrongly cached, is to stop the NST, keep it stopped, see if you get an error in Visual Studio code.

Run “clear credentials cache” in VS code from the command palette.

If you mean by anychance my-DB is the tenant name in a multi-tenant environment and not the database name you might use the parameter "tenant": in your launch.json file.

If still in doubt, I suggest to either report this issue to you Dynamics Business Central partner or if you are a Dynamics Business Central partner, log a service request with the support team.
