How to set financial dimension values limited by the main account type?

Hello all,

According to our internal business, we want "one of the FD fields show less FD pull-down value for a specific main account type, but the whole FD values for other main account type, in the same legal entity, at the same time."

For example, we have 1 account structure, including 2 FD. The 2nd FD should not show "000" FD value in the pull-down list, only when the order/journal are using main account (type = P&L). At the same time, in the same legal entity, both 1st and 2nd FD should show all FD values, when the order/journal are using main account (type ≠ P&L).

How to achieve that?

    Hey,

I dont think its possible in standard. There are derived financial dimensions that are populated by default based on other financial dimensions.

You may use this as a starter for an extension (customization).

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi,

There is no standard option to restrict dimension values based on main account, you have to go for customization.

Agree with the previous posts.  Your requirements require customization to accomplish.

    Hi,

With help of the account structures you can set which values are allowed per main account. E.g. you can create two account structures. One for P&L accounts where you include all FD values except "000". The second account structure can include all FD values for the balance accounts.
In the account structures, the application is not aware of the account type. You will then need to specify the P&L accounts using ranges of main accounts.
