Hi,

I want to add a tooltip on a field so as to avoid my users entering any data on that field. WHen users are trying to enter any data, it should show an error message.

Any guidance would be very helpful.

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

If you set your field as read-only, users won't be able to write on it (to be defined in the form editor)

For the tooltip part, you can add a description to you field and it will appear as tooltip

Make that particular field as the read only if you don't want to provide edit access to end users.

If you want to provide write access to that field to certain security roles then you will have 2 options.

    1. Create a JS which will get, logged in users security role. if this user will have specified role then make that field as the editable else don't do anything.

    2. Create field level security for it(For this you will need to enable it for that field).

    Thank you,

    Hi,

If you want to block user in Particular field, you need to write JavaScript.

Else if you have field level conditions go with Business rule

    Hi Newdynamics,

If you don't want this field to be edited by all users, you can make this field read-only.

1.Go to Advance Setting->Customizations, find the entity you want and select main form. Click the field.

2.In the display tab, click Field is read-only. Save and publish.

    3. The test results are as follows:

If you want the specified user to be able to edit this field, but not other users, you can write JS code to do it. Please refer to this:
