Hi all,

I have a new built-in module in ax that contains several forms and tables. I have added a role to a user who can access to this module(buttons, forms, tables). When I connect with this user and I open some forms I find the following error:

"Insufficient rights to run Menu Item"

If you right click your menu item, select Add-ins -> Security tools -> View related security roles, do you see your role here?

To me it looks like your role doesn't have access to that menu item.

Please make sure that the menu item is included in a privilege (with some other access level than NoAccess). Then make sure that this privilege is assigned to your user role, either directly or via security duty.

Yes I see this role here:

How can I verify that the menu item is included in a privilege  and this privilege is assigned to this user role?

I havn't more information about security in ax :(

Please learn more about the security. It's really required if you want to develop security related things in AX.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../role-based-security-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax

If your user can see some menu item in the menu, his/her role has sufficient access to see it. But with the information you provided it's not possible to know which menu item the error message is referring to. Maybe you have some code in your form that tries to run a menu item. And your user doesn't have access to run that menu item.

Please provide more information if you need help.

in this module there are several buttons that open forms, the user can execute some menu items but it can't execute the others.

How can I add access to run thid menu item?

Add the menu item to a privilege. Add the privilege to a duty. Add the duty to the role.

You might already have a privilege where you can add that menu item, in which case it's sufficient to just add the menu item to that privilege.

Please see the article about role based security that I linked earlier.

All menu items should belong to at least one privilege.

this is the display menu item:

I search in privilege and I find this:

the access level is set to "delete" !!

how can I change it to "total control"

    "Delete" means "total control".

why I do not have access to execute this menu item?

this privilege is assigned to the duty, and the duty is assigned to this role.

I don't know what is the problem?

Are you sure the error message is about this menu item? Does it say the menu item name in the error message?

sorry it's another menu item, I made a confusion between the two.

but each time when I add a new role and I want to assign this menu item.I add the privilege manually ??
