Create new customize gantt chart ax2012

Hi,

I want to create new gantt chart in AX2012 that can have customization in future.

It is possible to create gantt chart in ax2012, or should i use some other tools to create a gantt chart

Hi Mizra,

For what purpose do you need a Gantt chart?

AX2012 has this available e.g. for project hour planning, production planning and alike.

Hello Mirza Ahsan Baig,

A development license from Netronic might be needed in case modifications are to be done to the Gantt chart as such. However, no special licensing should be needed for utilizing the APIs of the Gantt control included in AX. Please take a look at the examples available for production scheduling or project activities to learn how the available APIs can be used. API's available are classes starting with Gantt*.

If you want to customize the Gantt control beyond using the available APIs, you should contact Netronics and verify if a development license is required and get more information about customizing Gantt chart (Gantt Charts for Dynamics AX (netronic.com)).

If you consider building a custom solution, keep in mind that you'll want to upgrade your solution to D365FO sooner or later. Managed form controls aren't supported there, because the client isn't a Windows application anymore.
