We just ran into this with a client who also had AA a few years ago and some of the Unit Accounts are missing in MR following the migration. I'm thinking I need to remove all the AA data and rebuild the Data Mart (again). Did you have any luck getting this working in your situation?
I realize this post has been open a year now, but thought I'd add my two cents. I have found that if I have MR open and add/update a unit account, I have to close out of MR and reopen it for it to pick up the changes. Somewhat odd, but I've noticed the same within some functions of GP as well.
I have the same issue with Unit Accounts - I've run check links, rebuilt the Data Mart, all the segments are named the same. MR pulls the company names from GP during the import, so they are the same. These reports worked just fine in FRx, but in Management Reporter anything with a Unit Account pulls no data. I'd appreciate any other suggestions, thank you.
One more idea. In MR2012 all of the companies also need to be named exactly the same in MR as they are in Great Plains. Not talking db names but the exact Company Name. Wish they would change that in MR and go back to the Db names...
In the console MR2012 console has to be the same: Example for lookup purposes we have our companies named: NEW - CA Company, Inc. and that is what is shown in Great Plains and in the MR2012 Console even though that is not the real company name. We pick up the real company name off of the Reporting Tree. But do all of yours match up?
Okay, I'm going backwards a minute. Don't know how long they have had MR, Did you migrate reports and are all of the Segments (now dimensions) named exactly the same in all of the companies. I have seen this absolutely give all sorts of mis-information and not bring in data when they are all not named exactly alike. Go into Tools>>Setup>>Company>>Account Format. Make sure they are all exactly the same.
After that you have me stumped? Anyone else have any ideas?
Yes to both. DM has been rebuilt about 3 times now. I am refreshing cache probably more than I should just in an attempt to get something going here. I have gotten this to work at a different site with no issues. Very simple in fact. I have now manually added unit account to 2 of their companies. Manually made an entry in the current year. No luck with getting it to pull the data for either company. This client had AA installed at one point in their business. It has been uninstalled for about 2 years now. We have upgraded them with no AA issues from 2010 to 2013 about 3 months ago and added MR. This is the first MR issue we have had for them. Of course, these are the first unit accounts they have added. I know MR and AA behave differently but it is not installed. We don't even have AA tables. Ideas?
Here is how to rebuild the Data Mart:

Have you gone in and refreshed the "Cache" or if it is a data mart rebuild the data mart? sounds like it is not seeing the information?
I am treating my unit account as a GL account. It is not really a learning issue of how to specifically do this here as much as this is just simply not working. I have a simple row format with only one row. The column J, link to financial dimensions, has my unit account number in it. My column format has a description column and a YTD column. I have this working at other client sites. At this client site we have imported about 500 unit accounts using IM. Then populated them with data. They all show 0. Same report being used at each. I am not seeing any differences in the actually account setup but...manually entry versus IM import.
Just went in and tested with my version of MR2012. Created a unit account. Went into my report and listed the unit account in the Link to GL. When I ran gave me the right balance of the Unit Account. Then I went and used the Unit account as a divisor against a total row. Treat your Unit account as a GL account and I think you will be just fine. This is just another dimension in Great Plains. Also, do your self a favor and go thru a couple of the MR training sessions in e-learning or even on U-tube. And I think you will be a lot less frustrated. I know I was at the beginning but they have simplified a lot of what we had to do in FRx. And adding in new features all the time.
