Lot tracking set up and use

Posted on by 10

We are setting items to lot track, but when we start and assembly entry and release the assembly GP breaks out the lot to individual records  for the assembly.

for example we are making 5,000 for the assembly qty and one of the components is lot tracked and in inventory.  So GP assigns that lot as qty per each of item being made.  There shows 5,000 1 each of that lot in stock, instead of 1 lot line for 5,000 of that lot.

Hope that makes sense.  I do not want it to put in 5,000 lines of that lot just assign 1 lot for the 5,000.  is there a set up change I need to make

    Hello

If you are setup in BOM Setup to 'Allow Linking of Component and Finished Good Serial and Lot Numbers' marked, what you are seeing is the expected behavior.

GP will break out each Lot ( so if you build 5000, you will get 5000 rows ) so they can be linked.

If you unmark that option, you should get a single row for the 5000 quantity.

    From the F1 help menu

    Thanks!

We prefer this to happen automatically.

We are only using BOM and we have GP 18.4.1384 (2021)

Here is the screen shot of the lot screen as you can see we have plenty in stock but instead of assigning a qty from either lot in stock it assigns qty 1 of the test lot and adds it 1,000 times

    Hi Jebrad-

    Thank you for your post.

Are you leveraging Inventory BOM or Manufacturing?

Are you able to provide a screen capture showing the issue?

*Forums are not private so do not include any personal information. *

What version/build of GP are you using?

I look forward to your feedback.
