Cancelling a scheduled app update install

Using BC 26.5 SaaS here. There is a PTE that wasn't installed via AppSource. It's an ISV solution where I manually installed the .app. Everything is working fine, but I had a question regarding a scheduled app update. Where I went into Extension Management, and chose to install the update for the Next Major Update. In this case, when BC is updated to v27. What if I needed to cancel that scheduled app update? If it's an AppSource app then I can go into the BC 365 Admin Center and cancel out. How about in this situation? How can I cancel this PTE from installing the update alongside the BC 27 update taking place?

    Hello ,

for a manually installed PTE (.app, not AppSource), once you select “Install update for next major update”, you cannot cancel it separately like an AppSource app. It’s locked to the tenant upgrade and won’t appear in the BC Admin Center. When BC upgrades from 26 → 27, the PTE update will install automatically. The only ways out are before the upgrade (uninstall/unpublish the PTE or replace the app) or after the upgrade (deploy a corrected version). This is a known limitation of PTE lifecycle management in SaaS.

Thanks for the insight. Based on what I was seeing, I assumed this was the case. Definitely a drawback, and perhaps Microsoft will improve management functionality in this area. Anything that's a scheduled activity should allow the ability to cancel it out. Will likely go the uninstall route prior to the BC 27 update taking place. Appreciate the reply!
