Description for Posted Sales Invoice in G/L Entries

Above is posted sales invoice and there is description for each G/L Account in Sales Invoice. However, I figured out that description in G/L Entries different from description in Sales Invoices that I had created. The description in G/L Entries as below:

So, may I know why there is auto generated description in G/L Entries when I posted the sales invoice?

Hi Nur

Default NAV Takes Order Number or the Invoice Number as the Posted Description if you need to your own description then You need to Bring the "Posting Description" Field in the Sales Header Page and after that, in the sales order, you can type the posting description what you need for the transaction.

by default, this field is not enabled in the sales order, invoice pages.

Hi

On the Sales / Purchase orders there is a field "Posting Description", the value in this field will be posted to G/L Entries, You can add this field to Pages

You can add a new Flowfield in G/L Entry table which will show you the description of G/L Account, if you dont want any custom code.

Else you can customize to bring G/L Account Description in Description field.

There is one field G/L Account Name . Kindly enable that on page and you will get G/L Account Name as it take name from Posting Description from Header.

With adding to "Indika's" comment , it is to different Description that along with two tables

in your first image : Description related to your Item (Its a description of Item card )

But in the G/L entry preview Description is not your item card description

that Description related to G/L entry preview table

don't confuse :) , if you wanna add Item Description for that you can add but its not by default

Thanks Maneesha. I understand that both of the Description are different. But I don't know how can the Description in posted Gen. Ledger Entries auto-generated e.g: Invoice 0004, Invoice 0003, etc.

the field "Posting Description" is not available on sales invoice page by default.

you need to add it from development environment.

Note: field is already available in table.
